Greetings Taekwondo family,
We are honored to invite you to the second annual Pacific West Open Taekwondo Championships on May 31, 2026.
We are committed to providing a fair, exciting, and high quality tournament experience. To ensure professional standards, Master Elvis Chavez and his E-Prodution staff will manage the event. We are also pleased to tannounce that our referee chairman, Master Danny Gonzalez, will lead a team of International and USAT referees to ensure compettion fairness.
We will utilize DAEDO GEN 3 electronic body protectors for all sparring competitors. Additionally, there will be a GRASSROOTS SPARRING division for non Daedo competitors. Tradiitonal Poomse competition will aslo be available for all belt levels.
We are grateful of your continued support and look forward to seeing all competitors grow and develop their skills. We wish you much success and look forward to seeing you all at the the Pacific West Open II Taekwondo Championships.

9:00 AM: CHECK IN/REGISTRATION. Pick up Wrist bands and Badges.
10:00 AM: OPENING CEREMONY FOLLOWED BY POOMSE COMPETITION FOR ALL AGES
SPARRING COMPETITION BEGINS IMMEDIATELY AFTER POOMSE starting with 9 year olds & younger and 18 year olds & over.
Followed by YOUTH 10-11 year olds, JUNIOR 15-17 year olds and CADET 12-14 year olds.
CALL TIMES will be by BELT RANK order. White/Yellow Belts (10-7 gup), Green Belts (6-5 gup), Blue Belts (4-3 gup), Red belts (2-1 gup), and Black Belts
GENERAL INFORMATION
DIVISIONS: KIDDIE KICKERS age 4-5, DRAGONS age 6-7, TIGERS age 8-9, YOUTH age 10-11, CADETS age 12-14, JUNIORS age 15-17 & SENIORS age 17 & above . Ages are based on date of birth in calendar year.
BELT COLORS (Gup): WHITE (10-9 gup), YELLOW (8-7 gup), GREEN (6-5 gup), BLUE (4-3 gup), RED (2-1 gup), BLACK (1st dan & above)
UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT: Must wear white uniform for all color belts and or black V neck uniforms for Black belts only. Sparring competitors, bring shin and arm guards, gloves, groin protector, mouthpiece and headgear (red & or blue headgear must match chest guard). White headgear is universal. Foot protector must be Daedo. You can order Daedo socks at https://.www.truescore.com.
GRASSROOTS SPARRING competitors do not need Daedo socks. Standard foot protectors apply for Grassroots competition.
WEIGH INS: ALL DAEDO COMPETITORS MUST WEIGH IN at Knockout Martial Arts or REMOTELY on Saturday, May 30, 2026 beginning at 10 AM and will end at 1 PM. Competitors must weigh in fully clothed. Example; shorts & T-shirts, pants & shirt or dobok only. You may not weigh in with sports bras or in underwear only. We are giving a .2 kg allowance. GRASSROOT SPARRING COMPETITORS DO NOT WEIGH IN.
AWARDS: Medals will be presented GOLD, SILVER & 2 BRONZE. BLACK BELT Winners in Kyorugi & Poomse from the CADET, JUNIOR & SENIOR BLACK BELT Division WINNERS from 2025 PACIFIC WEST OPEN will receive a FREE registration to the 2026 PACIFIC WEST OPEN. SPECTATORS: Fee is $25 CASH ONLY and children under 3 is free.
VENUE INFO: RC Sports Center-8303 Rochester Ave., Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730. No outside food, coolers, or drinks allowed. Water only.
LODGING: Hilton Hampton In - 11669 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730; Sheraton Four Points - 11960 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730. Both Hotels are within 2 minutes of the Venue.
COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS
POOMSE: Competitors will perform the poomse listed below for their rank. Scores will be based on proper order, beauty, grace, rhythm, accuracy, power, technique and attitude. There will be 4 competitors per division.

KYORUGI/SPARRING: The current USAT & WT competition rules will govern this championship. We will use the best out of 3 rounds format. Also, the 12 point gap rule will apply accept for Black belt Cadets, Junior and Senior semi-final and final matches. We will use the WT rule of 5 gamjeons in a round to end that round. The organizing committee may modify some rules according to the local condition. USAT Junior safety rules will also apply for this championship (See chart below).
